If you love Greek Mythology you'll love Percy Jackson. It has plenty of twists and turns that will keep your eyes glued to the page.
Percy Jackson centres around a pre-teen boy who just wants to be normal, but when he starts seeing weird stuff happen and he accidentally vaporizes his maths teacher he realizes this can never be the case. He starts to uncover his past along with his best friend 'Grover'.
When Grover tells Percy he's a demi-god (half mortal- half god) Percy begins to freak out.
"Look I didn't want to be a Half Blood"
When Percy arrives at camp half-blood and is told he is the son of Poseidon (God of the Sea), he gets looked down on as Poseidon is one of the big 3 Gods (Poseidon, Zeus and Hades) who aren't supposed to have children.
When Percy is told he pretty much gets cursed . Zeus lightening bolt is gone and Percy and his father are framed for it. Percy gets sent on a quest to prove his innocence.
In my opinion, this book is amazing! The fact that Rick Riordan mixed fiction and mythology together, while keeping the gods as the people they are is just really interesting and amazing to read. Mythology is fascinating and the fact the book takes place in modern time makes it feel current.
I also love the fact the book is suitable for anybody with Dyslexia, that makes it great for anyone who finds reading a challenge but they won't feel left out because the book isn't too young or basic and is a really gripping read.
Make sure to check the book out if you love reading or want to get into reading with a really good story. I'd be interested in hearing your book suggestions so if you see me around make sure to tell me about them :)
